Novatel Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ: NVTL), a leading provider of intelligent wireless networking solutions, today introduces the N4A cloud-based Device Manager 4.1 which provides enterprise customers with improved time-to-market and tools to effectively manage M2M assets through their entire lifecycle. The N4A Device Manager assists with activation, deployment, maintenance and day-to-day operation in one single, robust, secure and scalable platform.

“Providing reliable and flexible device management is important to our customers as they roll out their applications and services offerings. We now provide an enhanced web-enabled cloud-based device management platform with added scalability, security and an intuitive web interface,” said Rob Hadley, CMO of Novatel Wireless.

The N4A Device Manager 4.1 provides two main functions: device configuration and service management. The N4A Device Manager is highly scalable and can support customers ranging from small enterprises to tier-one carriers.

The N4A Device Manager offers easy-to-use system administrative tools and interfaces allowing customers to automate processes and make device management simple and cost-effective and lower the total cost of ownership for the M2M assets deployed by the customer.

The N4A Device Manager 4.1 comes with enhanced services and tools such as:

  • Strong diagnostic capabilities with logs and notifications delivered via emails and SNMP traps
  • New single sign-on capabilities with support for LDAP-based authentication facilitating easy integration with enterprise systems
  • Improved back-end integration to streamline the process of license and order management
  • Highly scalable architecture capable of supporting thousands of devices with high event throughput

Novatel Wireless’ M2M offering consists of 2G, 3G and 4G intelligent modules and integrated platforms. Additional services can also be provided with the combination of the N4A CMS and N4A Device Manager. These solutions support reliable wireless connections for verticals including utility, security, tele-health, transportation, tracking, automotive and telemetry markets.

The N4A Device Manager 4.1 is commercially available now and will be demonstrated at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Spain, February 24-28 2013.

You're getting pitched every day from your legacy enterprise software and hardware vendors about "cloud." They're doing an amazing job of convincing your CIO and CTO about what cloud is and how you should use it. The reality is they're defending their shrinking market share and keeping you on the legacy treadmill for as long as they can by selling you solutions that aren't "cloud." In her session at the 12th International Cloud Expo, Niki Acosta, Cloud Evangelista for Rackspace, will talk thro...
The rise of cloud computing has exposed hard drive-based storage as the new data center bottleneck. Combating this, data center managers have deployed SSDs to gain the performance needed to provide real-time access to data. However, due to budget constraints, many have turned to consumer-grade SSDs without understanding that they wear out quickly when processing enterprise workloads. In this session, Esther Spanjer will discuss recent endurance advancements in SSD technology that enable usage of...
