Tribold CPQ performance and scalability set industry benchmark

Configure Price Quote solution proves real-time linear scaling for high volume, online transactional order queries

London, UK - May 13, 2013 - At Management World in Nice today, Tribold, the leading provider of software solutions powering product agility, announces recent benchmarking results for their market-leading Configure Price Quote (CPQ) Services Engine demonstrating performance and scalability capabilities for anyone deploying quoting and order capture solutions.

Real-time, automated product personalisation across multiple sales channels is putting tremendous pressure on performance and scalability of quoting and order capture solutions. The significant benefits of providing customers, prospects and account teams with the ability to create and manage personalized quotations and pricing based on valid offerings sourced real-time puts scalability at the top of concerns when deploying CPQ.

"Creating personalized offers in real-time can be crippling on the performance of many quoting and order capture solutions," stated Catherine Michel, Tribold founder and CTO. "CSPs' account teams and their customers are finding that the time it takes to process the configurations is simply too long and frequently result in abandoned orders and lost business opportunities."

The Tribold CPQ Services Engine benchmarking results have shown a near linear scalability for building and pricing both simple and complex configurations. The product has been designed to be horizontally scalable with a stateless architecture and benefits from content caching for in-memory processing. The performance and scalability results are consistent for both in cloud and on premise deployments of Tribold CPQ.

"Tribold CPQ provides the performance and scalability that our customers expect from the customer facing solutions they deploy to the field," Michel continued. "Tribold CPQ is used today by CSPs who differentiate themselves on their product innovation, personalisation and bundling flexibility. To the satisfaction of our customers, our solution is proving to meet their performance expectations as well."

Tribold product experts will be available at the Tribold booth (#37) throughout the TM Forum Management World conference (May 14-16) to discuss the benchmark results and demonstrate the Tribold CPQ solution.

As you know, enterprise IT conversation over the past year have often centered upon the open-source Kubernetes container orchestration system. In fact, Kubernetes has emerged as the key technology -- and even primary platform -- of cloud migrations for a wide variety of organizations. Kubernetes is critical to forward-looking enterprises that continue to push their IT infrastructures toward maximum functionality, scalability, and flexibility. As they do so, IT professionals are also embracing the reality of Serverless architectures, which are critical to developing and operating real-time applications and services. Serverless is particularly important as enterprises of all sizes develop and deploy Internet of Things (IoT) initiatives.
Signs of a shift in the usage of public clouds are everywhere. Previously, as organizations outgrew old IT methods, the natural answer was to try the public cloud approach; however, the public platform alone is not a complete solution. Complaints include unpredictable/escalating costs and mounting security concerns in the public cloud. Ultimately, public cloud adoption can ultimately mean a shift of IT pains instead of a resolution. That's why the move to hybrid, custom, and multi-cloud will become more and more prevalent. At the heart of this technology trend exists a custom solution to meet the needs and concerns of enterprise organizations, including compliance, security, and cost issues. The "new normal" of enterprise clients is a world of hybrid and multi-cloud solutions, and it is slowly changing the IT technology landscape. Better tools, better management, and easier adoption a...

While a hybrid cloud can ease that transition, designing and deploy that hybrid cloud still offers challenges for organizations concerned about lack of available cloud skillsets within their organization. Managed service providers offer a unique opportunity to fill those gaps and get organizations of all sizes on a hybrid cloud that meets their comfort level, while delivering enhanced benefits for cost, efficiency, agility, mobility, and elasticity.
