Accelerating Innovation with the DocuSign Winter '14 Release

As DocuSign continues to develop new capabilities to make business faster and more efficient, we are encouraged to see that customers recognize us as the most secure, most trusted, easiest to use product. Many of the world’s leading companies such as Salesforce, eBay, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, and GEICO rely on us to conduct mission critical business processes every day.

We are committed to creating powerful new capabilities and enhancing existing features to help our customers reduce costs, increase productivity and provide a delightful customer experience. So, I couldn’t be more excited to announce the DocuSign Winter ’14 Release and share some of the highlights with you.

Expanding Support for Digital Signatures

With this release, DocuSign expands our support for digital signatures – a specific technology implementation of electronic signature for customers in certain industries and geographies – with the introduction of the DocuSign Express Digital Signature.

We are also extending our leadership in supporting digital signature technology with the launch of the DocuSign Express Digital Signature—the first fully cloud-based, digital signature solution that is automatically issued at the time of signing with a single-click. The DocuSign Express Digital Signature enables senders to sign documents with an X.509, PKI standards-based digital signature backed by DocuSign that make digital signatures easier, faster and more convenient to use.

Mobile Templates

Earlier this year, we released offline signing for DocuSign Mobile native apps, allowing users the ability to sign anytime they want. With this release we further extend our enterprise mobile support with the addition of mobile templates. Templates are reusable, standardized documents that combine commonly used forms with signer workflows.

Now mobile users can quickly prepare documents for signature by selecting from templates to save more time and close deals faster.

In-person signing sessions just got even more powerful. Imagine you’re meeting with a client to close a big deal. Just open your DocuSign Mobile app, choose the relevant template, pass your tablet or smartphone to your client to sign and the deal is done!

DocuSign Mobile Templates will be available on both iOS and Android in December/January.

Saved & Scheduled Custom Reports

We have made significant investments to help our customers gain deep, actionable insights around how DocuSign is reducing costs and increasing productivity. Last quarter, we introduced the Reports tab in the DocuSign console to provide document, recipient and account level data. The customer response was tremendous – and you told us you want to do even more. With this release, now you can customize and save reports, receive reports via email, and automate report delivery according to your preferred schedule. You can even specify other recipients – your boss, for example – who will receive the report as an attachment straight in their inbox, without even having to login to DocuSign.

Use Reports to understand which individuals, teams or departments are using DocuSign so you can track adoption and measure ROI. Uncover trends in document volume and turnaround time. Check the status of a class of documents, such as outstanding offer letters.

CloudEXPO Stories
As you know, enterprise IT conversation over the past year have often centered upon the open-source Kubernetes container orchestration system. In fact, Kubernetes has emerged as the key technology -- and even primary platform -- of cloud migrations for a wide variety of organizations. Kubernetes is critical to forward-looking enterprises that continue to push their IT infrastructures toward maximum functionality, scalability, and flexibility. As they do so, IT professionals are also embracing the reality of Serverless architectures, which are critical to developing and operating real-time applications and services. Serverless is particularly important as enterprises of all sizes develop and deploy Internet of Things (IoT) initiatives.
Signs of a shift in the usage of public clouds are everywhere. Previously, as organizations outgrew old IT methods, the natural answer was to try the public cloud approach; however, the public platform alone is not a complete solution. Complaints include unpredictable/escalating costs and mounting security concerns in the public cloud. Ultimately, public cloud adoption can ultimately mean a shift of IT pains instead of a resolution. That's why the move to hybrid, custom, and multi-cloud will become more and more prevalent. At the heart of this technology trend exists a custom solution to meet the needs and concerns of enterprise organizations, including compliance, security, and cost issues. The "new normal" of enterprise clients is a world of hybrid and multi-cloud solutions, and it is slowly changing the IT technology landscape. Better tools, better management, and easier adoption a...
The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is a non-profit organization that provides business support services to companies expanding to Japan. With the support of JETRO's dedicated staff, clients can incorporate their business; receive visa, immigration, and HR support; find dedicated office space; identify local government subsidies; get tailored market studies; and more.
While a hybrid cloud can ease that transition, designing and deploy that hybrid cloud still offers challenges for organizations concerned about lack of available cloud skillsets within their organization. Managed service providers offer a unique opportunity to fill those gaps and get organizations of all sizes on a hybrid cloud that meets their comfort level, while delivering enhanced benefits for cost, efficiency, agility, mobility, and elasticity.
