Cloud Expo Names Top Industry Leaders Conference Chair and Tech Chair

Cloud Expo, Inc. has announced today that Vanessa Alvarez has been named conference chair and Larry Carvalho has been named Tech Chair of Cloud Expo® 2014

14th International Cloud Expo® will take place on June 10-12, 2014, at the Javits Center in New York City, New York, and 15th International Cloud Expo® will take place on November 4-6, 2014, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.

Vanessa Alvarez is an accomplished technology executive, with expertise in enterprise infrastructure technologies spanning the data center. Her current role is head of marketing at Scale Computing, a leading developer of hyperconverged solutions and private cloud infrastructure.

Alvarez spent nine years as an analyst covering networking and storage technologies, beginning with The Yankee Group, and most recently, Forrester Research. Her expertise was on advising enterprises how to best leverage their IT environment to enable their competitive advantage through the deployment of emerging technologies and operational models.

Recognized by Huffington Post as one of the 2013 Cloud Computing Experts, she has also been selected as one of the Top 50 Women in Tech for 2011, and one of the Top 10 Women in Cloud for 2012 and 2013 by CloudNOW. Alvarez appeared on Bloomberg TV and was recognized for her research through articles and quotes in publications such as CNNMoney, Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and Investor's Business Daily. She is a frequent speaker at tech conferences and is sought after for her thought leadership on the evolving IT ecosystem.
