Globally renowned Enterprise Architect and Cloud Computing Expert to serve as Chief Evangelist
GLENS FALLS, NY, January 27, 2014 – EnterpriseWeb, provider of the first Enterprise-Class, Web-scale application platform for the Cloud (www.enterpriseweb.com), announced the addition of Jason Bloomberg to its senior management team. Mr. Bloomberg will serve in the newly created role of Chief Evangelist, where he will lead the message and the community building efforts for EnterpriseWeb’s next-generation Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings.
Mr. Bloomberg recently served as President of ZapThink where he created the Licensed ZapThink Architect and Enterprise Cloud Computing courses that he conducted globally. He was also the primary contributor to the popular ZapFlash newsletter and blog for twelve years.
“I am excited to bring a global thought leader like Jason on board,” said Dave Duggal, Managing Director, EnterpriseWeb. “Jason has been building the case for Agile IT Architecture for over a decade and is uniquely qualified to communicate the value proposition of EnterpriseWeb.”
Mr. Bloomberg is recognized for his deep insight into Cloud Computing, Enterprise Architecture, and Service-Oriented Architecture. He is a frequent conference speaker and prolific writer, and he also serves as blogger for DevX. His latest book, The Agile Architecture Revolution: How Cloud Computing, REST-based SOA, and Mobile Computing are Changing Enterprise IT (John Wiley & Sons), was published in March 2013.
“Of all the software vendors I’ve advised during my 12 years at ZapThink, EnterpriseWeb stands out with an innovative platform design that delivers on the promise of Agile Architecture,” said Jason Bloomberg. “They’ve reimagined middleware for the Cloud, fusing RESTful interoperability with intelligent agent technology to deliver data-driven business services. The result is a more responsive, adaptive, and manageable enterprise-class application platform that helps organizations achieve the elusive goals of Service-Oriented Architecture.”
Mr. Bloomberg will continue his thought leadership activities at EnterpriseWeb by launching the company’s new blog and newsletter, Loosely-Coupled. View the first issue at www.enterpriseweb.com/blog and subscribe at www.enterpriseweb.com/newsletter.
He is also launching EnterpriseWeb’s new Webinar series, Spotlight. Register for the inaugural Webinar, “Real-time is Agile” with Special Guest, David Linthicum on February 25 at www.enterpriseweb.com/spotlight.
Mr. Bloomberg will also be continuing his popular global conference speaking engagements. He will next be speaking on The Agile Architecture Revolution at SIGS DATACOM OOP 2014 in Munich, Germany on February 5.
EnterpriseWeb is the first Enterprise-Class, Web-scale application platform for the Cloud. It is being proven in mission-critical operations from life sciences to telecom supporting a diverse set of real-time, data-driven, policy-based applications.
To date, application development using Cloud-based Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions has generally been limited to building rapid prototypes and experimental applications. At the same time, simply porting legacy apps doesn’t deliver a return on investment or transform the business; it’s just recreating the same old silos in the Cloud.
EnterpriseWeb was developed from the ground up for a Cloud-optimized user experience. It supports a new class of applications and processes that are responsive, adaptive and scalable, while enforcing business compliance and automating IT governance.
EnterpriseWeb’s breakthrough is its novel use of intelligent agents that dynamically “find and bind” application resources based on business context to personalize every interaction. Agents also handle all run time implementation details, sparing programmers from repetitive and tedious development work, thus greatly improving IT productivity. Overall, the agents support a more loosely-coupled and agile enterprise, which enables collaboration between, across, and beyond organizational boundaries for integrated value chains.
EnterpriseWeb is available for public Cloud, private Cloud, and on premise deployment. The company works closely with independent software vendors, system integrators, and domain partners to develop differentiated SaaS offerings, as well as enterprise customers that run ready-to-use SaaS applications or leverage the PaaS platform to develop their own solutions. In the world of DevOps there are ‘known good practices’ – aka ‘patterns’ – and ‘known bad practices’ – aka ‘anti-patterns.' Many of these patterns and anti-patterns have been developed from real world experience, especially by the early adopters of DevOps theory; but many are more feasible in theory than in practice, especially for more recent entrants to the DevOps scene. In this power panel at @DevOpsSummit at 18th Cloud Expo, moderated by DevOps Conference Chair Andi Mann, panelists will dis...

The demand for organizations to expand their infrastructure to multiple IT environments like the cloud, on-premise, mobile, bring your own device (BYOD) and the Internet of Things (IoT) continues to grow. As this hybrid infrastructure increases, the challenge to monitor the security of these systems increases in volume and complexity. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Stephen Coty, Chief Security Evangelist at Alert Logic, will show how properly configured and managed security architecture can...

There is an ever-growing explosion of new devices that are connected to the Internet using “cloud” solutions. This rapid growth is creating a massive new demand for efficient access to data. And it’s not just about connecting to that data anymore. This new demand is bringing new issues and challenges and it is important for companies to scale for the coming growth. And with that scaling comes the need for greater security, gathering and data analysis, storage, connectivity and, of course, the...

See storage differently! Storage performance problems have only gotten worse and harder to solve as applications have become largely virtualized and moved to a cloud-based infrastructure. Storage performance in a virtualized environment is not just about IOPS, it is about how well that potential performance is guaranteed to individual VMs for these apps as the number of VMs keep going up real time. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Dhiraj Sehgal, in product and marketing at Tintri, will discu...

Up until last year, enterprises that were looking into cloud services usually undertook a long-term pilot with one of the large cloud providers, running test and dev workloads in the cloud. With cloud’s transition to mainstream adoption in 2015, and with enterprises migrating more and more workloads into the cloud and in between public and private environments, the single-provider approach must be revisited.
