American has put most of its international destinations on sale -- but hurry, tickets must be purchased by Dec. 20, 2006. So if you're yearning for Europe, aching for Asia, craving the Caribbean, or longing for Latin America, your ship -- or rather, plane -- has just come in.
Travel dates vary by destination, but generally travel on these sale fares must begin after the first of the year through the end of February or March 2007.
American, a founding member of the global oneworld(R) Alliance, flies to four continents, so it's likely we have your international destination covered -- whether it's Acapulco or Zurich or just about anywhere in between.

For Caribbean and Puerto Rico/U.S. Virgin Islands travel: Tickets must be purchased at least seven days prior to departure or within one day of making reservations, whichever comes first, but no later than 11:59 p.m., Dec. 20, 2006 (Central Standard Time). Fares are valid for travel Monday through Thursday beginning Jan. 10 through Feb. 27, 2007, with return travel complete by midnight March 1, 2007. Travel is not valid from Boston and New York to Providenciales and Punta Cana from Feb. 16-18, 2007, and to Boston and New York from Providenciales and Punta Cana from Feb. 23-25, 2007. A two-day minimum stay is required and a 30-day maximum stay is allowed.
For Mexico travel: Tickets must be purchased at least seven days prior to departure or within one day of making reservations, whichever comes first, but no later than 11:59 p.m., Dec. 20, 2006 (Central Standard Time). Fares are valid for travel Monday through Thursday beginning Jan. 10 through Feb. 27, 2007, with return travel complete by midnight March 1, 2007. Travel is not valid from the U.S. to Mexico from Feb. 15-18, 2007, and from Mexico to the U.S. from Feb. 19, 20, 23-26, 2007. A two-day minimum stay is required and a 30-day maximum stay is allowed.
For Latin America travel: Tickets must be purchased at least three days prior to departure or within three days of making reservations, whichever comes first, but no later than 11:59 p.m., Dec. 20, 2006 (Central Standard Time). Fares are valid for travel Monday through Thursday beginning Jan. 15 through March 22, 2007, with return travel complete by midnight March 29, 2007. A Saturday-night minimum stay is required and 30-day maximum stay is allowed.
For Asia travel: Tickets must be purchased at least seven days prior to departure or within three days of making reservations, whichever comes first, but no later than 11:59 p.m., Dec. 20, 2006 (Central Standard Time). Fares are valid for travel Monday through Thursday beginning Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, 2007, with return travel complete by midnight March 29, 2007. Travel is not valid from the U.S. to Shanghai from Feb. 9-16, 2007. A six-day minimum stay is required and a 30-day maximum stay is allowed.
Advertised fares are valid only on American Airlines, American Eagle, and AmericanConnection(R) and do not apply to other codeshare flights. Seats are limited. Fares may not be available on all flights. Schedules are subject to change without notice.
Fares are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Changes to your ticket may be made if you meet the restrictions of the new fare and pay a $100 service fee ($150 for Asia and Latin America, $200 for Europe) plus any fare difference. Changes must be made before your flight departs. When you cancel your flight prior to departure time, the ticket will be valid for one year from the date of issue on an unused ticket or one year from travel origination on a partially used ticket. If you do not cancel your flight before departure time, the ticket has no value.
