Pure Storage Names Tim Riitters CFO

Pure Storage, the all-flash enterprise storage array company, today named Tim Riitters chief financial officer.

Riitters will lead the company’s financial and accounting operations worldwide. He will report to CEO Scott Dietzen. Riitters joins Pure Storage on August 26 from Google, where he spent 10 years in finance.

“This is yet another milestone in our mission to become the next great storage company,” said CEO Scott Dietzen. “Tim is a world class finance professional who will add incredible experience to the business, further round out our management team, and continue to position Pure for its next stage of accelerated growth and ultimate long term independence. A seasoned advisor with a track record of leading global organizations through hyper-growth, Tim’s expertise at managing and maximizing revenue opportunities, identifying business risks and ensuring financial accountability will greatly benefit Pure. As our business reaches new levels of maturity, our financial processes must remain both sturdy and squeaky clean, so that we may without fail continue aggressively pioneering the all-flash future for enterprise storage.”

At Google, Riitters was responsible for overseeing the company-wide annual planning and budgeting processes. Additionally, he led the finance team responsible for predicting revenue trends and increasing revenue opportunities. Earlier in his career at Google, Riitters was based in Dublin, Ireland where he oversaw the company’s European financial operations, and served as CFO of its European Payments Business. Previous to Google, he held leadership positions at both Siebel Systems and Deloitte.

“Pure Storage is bringing incredible innovation to enterprise storage. The company has a winning formula – with best in class technology, a strong corporate culture, an impressive team and a multi billion dollar market to seize,” said CFO Tim Riitters. “I am excited to get to work and help prepare the company for continued growth.”

Riitters holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and a Bachelor of Science in business from the University of Minnesota.

CloudEXPO Stories
Industry after industry is under siege as companies embrace digital transformation (DX) to disrupt existing business models and disintermediate their competitor’s customer relationships. But what do we mean by “Digital Transformation”? The coupling of granular, real-time data (e.g., smartphones, connected devices, smart appliances, wearables, mobile commerce, video surveillance) with modern technologies (e.g., cloud native apps, big data architectures, hyper-converged technologies, artificial intelligence, blockchain) to enhance products, processes, and business-decision making with customer, product and operational insights.
At CloudEXPO Silicon Valley, June 24-26, 2019, Digital Transformation (DX) is a major focus with expanded DevOpsSUMMIT and FinTechEXPO programs within the DXWorldEXPO agenda. Successful transformation requires a laser focus on being data-driven and on using all the tools available that enable transformation if they plan to survive over the long term. A total of 88% of Fortune 500 companies from a generation ago are now out of business. Only 12% still survive. Similar percentages are found throughout enterprises of all sizes.
CloudEXPO has been the M&A capital for Cloud companies for more than a decade with memorable acquisition news stories which came out of CloudEXPO expo floor. DevOpsSUMMIT New York faculty member Greg Bledsoe shared his views on IBM's Red Hat acquisition live from NASDAQ floor. Acquisition news was announced during CloudEXPO New York which took place November 12-13, 2019 in New York City.
