Fiorano Helps Gamma-Dynacare for Quick and Accurate Reporting of Medical Tests

Fiorano Software, a leader in enterprise integration middleware solutions, announced that Fiorano ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) has been deployed at Gamma-Dynacare, one of Canada's largest and most respected providers of medical laboratory services and solutions, for swift and accurate testing and reporting of tens of thousands of specimens each day.

With more than 50 million tests conducted each year and supporting more than 12,000 community-based Canadian physicians and other healthcare providers, it was a cumbersome task for Gamma-Dynacare to handle some of the critical tests such as Food Intolerance Test which measures over 220 specific foods at one time. It involved manual processing, a tedious and critical task of matching lab test results with patients and patient records, a process that was taking upwards of 3 days per patient. Reducing time, achieving near 100% accuracy in matching test results and automating this process was crucial for Gamma-Dynacare as it can help a patient seek immediate attention by their healthcare provider.

After a detailed evaluation, Gamma-Dynacare chose Fiorano over their incumbent software provider as no other vendor could match Fiorano’s productivity, innovation, time to market and TCO. With Fiorano’s efficient mapping tools and ESB infrastructure, the time taken to deliver test results was reduced to less than two hours, resulting in a substantial increase in ROI (Return on Investment) and customer satisfaction. With an innovative enterprise system in place, Gamma-Dynacare is now able to provide its customers with a web-based personalized report that a healthcare provider can get access to soon after the test is done, in addition to the current report that it usually provides, making it one of the best in the industry.

Most DevOps journeys involve several phases of maturity. Research shows that the inflection point where organizations begin to see maximum value is when they implement tight integration deploying their code to their infrastructure. Success at this level is the last barrier to at-will deployment. Storage, for instance, is more capable than where we read and write data. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at 20th Cloud Expo, Josh Atwell, a Developer Advocate for NetApp, will discuss the role and value extensible storage infrastructure has in accelerating software development activities, improve code quality, reveal multiple deployment options through automated testing, and support continuous integration efforts. All this will be described using tools common in DevOps organizations.
