Technology is enabling a new approach to collecting and using data. This approach, commonly referred to as the "Internet of Things" (IoT), enables businesses to use real-time data from all sorts of things including machines, devices and sensors to make better decisions, improve customer service, and lower the risk in the creation of new revenue opportunities.
In his session at Internet of @ThingsExpo, Dave Wagstaff, Vice President and Chief Architect at BSQUARE Corporation, will discuss the real benefits to focus on, how to understand the requirements of a successful solution, the flow of data, and how to best approach deploying an IoT solution that will drive results.

In this role Mr. Wagstaff drives a comprehensive and integrated strategy for all Bsquare products including the company's Internet of Things offerings. Mr. Wagstaff has held a number of senior and strategic technology positions including Chief Architect, Advanced Solutions at Lantronix from June 2011 to November 2013, Director of Engineering at Lantronix from July 2008 to June 2011, Director, Software Development at Open Text, Inc. from September 1999 to July 2008 and Software Development Manager at both Gauss Interprise, Inc. and Diebold from May 1980 to September 1999.

Developing Your IoT Strategy

The technologies and solutions available to create your IoT ecosystem provide rich and diverse capabilities, and as such it is easy to spend too much or too little on the IoT implementation. In addition, planning for the future is an important consideration. The investment and the benefits derived from that investment today and in the future can result in a transformative business process. This blog introduces considerations in developing your IoT deployment.
A key step in defining your IoT deployment strategy is to establish the goals for your IoT implementation. The goals can include creating new revenue sources, developing new business efficiencies, and increasing product differentiation. Chris Matthieu Named Internet of @ThingsExpo Tech Chair
Internet of @ThingsExpo has announced today that Chris Matthieu has been named tech chair of Internet of @ThingsExpo 2014 Silicon Valley.
The 2nd Global Internet of @ThingsExpo will take place on November 4-6, 2014, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
Chris Matthieu has two decades of telecom and web experience. He launched his Teleku cloud communications-as-a-service platform at eComm in 2010, which was acquired by Voxeo. Next he built an open source Node.JS PaaS called Nodester, which was acquired by AppFog. His new startup is Twelephone (http://twelephone.com). Leveraging HTML5 and WebRTC, Twelephone's BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) is to become the next generation telecom company running in the Web browser.
