Federal Consulting Group and GovDelivery Partner to Improve Government-to- Citizen Communications

GovDelivery(R) Digital Subscription Management offers automated, personalized public communications; increases web usage and sat

WASHINGTON and SAINT PAUL, Minn., July 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Government agencies looking for more efficient ways to share information with the public can now utilize GovDelivery's industry-leading public communication solution as part of the Federal Consulting Group's suite of services, according to a partnership announced today by FCG and GovDelivery.

As part of the agreement, FCG, a franchise of the U.S. Department of Treasury, will offer GovDelivery's Email and Digital Subscription Management solution to its Federal customers. GovDelivery, headquartered in St. Paul, Minn., is the world's leading provider of government-to-citizen digital communications.

"FCG and GovDelivery share a mission: to help agencies communicate more quickly and effectively with their public audiences. The GovDelivery solution fits perfectly with FCG's tools to accomplish this objective. Its proven ability to advance public communication, increase website usage, and boost citizen satisfaction with e-government complement the American Consumer Satisfaction Index (ACSITM) survey tool, which FCG also makes available to its Federal customers," said Ron Oberbillig, Chief Operating Officer of FCG.

GovDelivery's Email and Digital Subscription Management (DSM) service enables agencies to quickly email the public with automated, personalized information updates. Operating on a proprietary Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, DSM facilitates information sharing via email, wireless alerts, and RSS, without requiring agencies to purchase complicated hardware or software.

"FCG's work studying satisfaction shows the public expects up-to-date information. As government websites grow in size and complexity, GovDelivery's solution will drive citizens to relevant information faster, and improve overall website usage," said Oberbillig.

GSA, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Food Safety and Inspection Service at the U.S. Department of Agriculture currently utilize both the GovDelivery and ACSITM services.

"The Federal government relies on GovDelivery to send millions of updates to citizens each month, on topics from updated forms and policies to national emergencies such as Hurricane Katrina," said Scott Burns, CEO and co-founder of GovDelivery. "We are pleased to work with FCG to help more government agencies be proactive and citizen-centric in their communications."

Interested agencies can contact FCG for a consultation. Those already using the ACSITM survey and GovDelivery services can contact their GovDelivery or FCG account manager for information on joint capabilities.

2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth. Building a cloud computing environment with on-demand access to compute, network, and storage resources requires an elastic infrastructure at multiple levels. Virtualization combined with x86 servers has transformed the way we scale out compute resources. Unfortunately, legacy Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage architectures are rooted in rigid mainframe-era designs, and are fundamentally mismatched with the dynamic, shared modern data center. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, ...
