GuestCentric Systems Joins Hotel Technology Next Generation

STAMFORD, CT -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 10/15/07 -- GuestCentric Systems, an early-stage startup that develops web services for travelers and the travel industry, today announced that it has joined Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG), a global trade association that facilitates the development of next-generation, customer-centric technologies to better meet the needs of the global hotel community. As a member of HTNG, GuestCentric joins a worldwide list of leading company members, such as Agilysys, Cisco, IBM, Micros, Microsoft, PAR Springer-Miller and Pegasus, among many others.

Through the use of HTNG's base architecture, hoteliers can build best-of-breed applications based on open Internet technologies, reducing technology management cost and complexity while improving reliability and scalability. GuestCentric will support the growth and adoption of existing and evolving HTNG standards and share its knowledge in workgroups and events to achieve an open, distributed application foundation for travel applications.

"Web 2.0 is a trend that is coming fast and furious to the travel industry, and we at HTNG are tracking it closely," said Douglas C. Rice, Executive Vice President and CEO of Hotel Technology Next Generation. "We welcome GuestCentric's commitment to contributing to the standardization of web technologies that are more interactive and customer-centric."

"The solution to satisfied customers is innovation and freedom of choice. Open standards and interoperability is the only path to achieve this big goal. While the travel industry has been behind other industries to date, HTNG and the Internet are changing that," said Pedro Colaco, President and CEO at GuestCentric. "We are committed to working with our peers to revolutionize the way this industry works, and collaborating with HTNG is one of the stepping stones in that strategy."

Cloud is a shift from the focus on underlying technology implementation to leveraging existing implementations and further building upon them. Cloud orchestration or a network of clouds is the wave of the future where these clouds can operate with elasticity, scalability, and efficiency.
