Listen Up! Danger Inc., announces Debut of T-Mobile Sidekick II, Hollywood Answers

The introduction of the T-Mobile Sidekick II has both Hollywood and key industry players in the wireless field excited. Wireless solutions company, Danger, Inc., which the T-Mobile Sidekick II is based on, announced today the debut of the Sidekick II, a meaner, leaner version of the original. Hand-in-hand, some of the biggest names in Hollywood will be walking the red carpet at a VIP party where the new T-Mobile phone will be unveiled.

The original Sidekick was such a huge hit, due in part to Danger's success in integrating applications that are user-friendly, and also highly customizable. Among the additions in the Sidekick II are Yahoo! Messenger, Sony Music ring tones, the inclusion of user e-mail addresses, and colored-bumpers the phone can be dressed-up in. Danger also picked up a partnership with Sharp Corp., additional carrier partnerships will extend the mobile phone's range, and venture capital funding has shot up.

Users can further jazz-up their Sidekick II with voice messages from celebrities and musicians that announce incoming calls. Ringtones include a selection based on actual songs that people will recognize; and, in case you might get bored calling some of the 2,000 personal contact that Sidekick II can hold, there are even downloadable games.

"The T-Mobile Sidekick II makes a great device even better by enhancing the experience people loved with the original Sidekick. The new version adds more IM options, new phone capability and a built-in camera with flash, so now more than ever it's the ultimate communication device," said John Clelland, senior vice president of segment marketing for T-Mobile USA, Inc. "It seems everyone is excited about the T-Mobile Sidekick II, making it a must-have device."

Indeed, not only do mainstream celebrities rave about the phone; but it has its core group of less-known, but still very cool, fans. Skateboarding icon Tony Hawk said, "I can't live without my Sidekick. I take it everywhere with me. It allows me to answer emails as they come in instead of coming home to 100 different messages."

Tonight's party is happening in conjunction with the beginning of the ESPN X Games X. T-Mobile is pitching its Sidekick II to a broad range of people; and, what's unusual is that it's catching on in all circles.

2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth. Building a cloud computing environment with on-demand access to compute, network, and storage resources requires an elastic infrastructure at multiple levels. Virtualization combined with x86 servers has transformed the way we scale out compute resources. Unfortunately, legacy Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage architectures are rooted in rigid mainframe-era designs, and are fundamentally mismatched with the dynamic, shared modern data center. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, ...
