Embotics CEO Speaking This Week at SYS-CON's 4th International Virtualization Conference & Expo in Silicon Valley

Virtualization is not just about server consolidation any more; there's an entire Virtualization Lifecycle for IT to manage

The President & CEO of Embotics Corporation, Jay Litkey, will be giving a top breakout session at SYS-CON's 4th International Virtualization Conference & Expo this week in San Jose, CA (19-21 November, 2008).

"Virtualization is not just about server consolidation any more; as virtual infrastructure grows, there's an entire Virtualization Lifecycle for IT to manage," notes Litkey, who prior to founding Embotics was the founder of Symbium, a venture capital funded company focused on Autonomic Computing and the automated management of IT infrastructure.

He will be giving his session at The Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California. in which he'll be explaining to delegates how managing Virtual Machine (VM) sprawl is of growing concern to organizations as they grow their VM environments.

"Traditional management tool and security systems do not work well in this space, and virtualization vendor tools are more focused on deployment than management," says Litkey.

2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth. Building a cloud computing environment with on-demand access to compute, network, and storage resources requires an elastic infrastructure at multiple levels. Virtualization combined with x86 servers has transformed the way we scale out compute resources. Unfortunately, legacy Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage architectures are rooted in rigid mainframe-era designs, and are fundamentally mismatched with the dynamic, shared modern data center. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, ...
