mojoRTK Steers CCD Tractors With the John Deere(R) GreenStar(TM) System

mojoRTK Steers CCD Tractors With the John Deere(R) GreenStar(TM) System

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Leica Geosystems continues to add steering platforms to the new No Drift(TM) mojoRTK. Now, they've extended their plug-and play-system to steer older CCD steering systems in addition to the newer CAN-based tractors via the John Deere(R) GreenStar(TM) system.

The mojoRTK, which installs in the radio or DIN slot of the tractor cab, can now provide RTK-guidance to CCD (Chrysler Collision Detection) steering- system tractors through either the original GreenStar (brown box) or the new touch-screen GreenStar 2600 monitor.

"Connecting to AutoTrac(TM)-ready CCD steering systems through the GreenStar system not only allows the mojoRTK to steer a wider array of tractors, but it also gives growers a much less expensive option for RTK," said Trevor Mecham, Leica's North American business manager. "Growers with supported tractors can buy the GreenStar components they need from their local Deere dealers, then add that to the mojoRTK and still be thousands below the cost of most RTK systems."

Growers currently running either of the GreenStar systems only need to add the mojoRTK system (console and base station), which retails at $12,980, to upgrade to RTK accuracy.

"Now Deere owners can get RTK accuracy and have access to upgrades like GLONASS satellites, or 8- and 16-mile range extensions," said Darin Sothers, North American sales manager. "Plus they don't have to throw out their GreenStar system or start from scratch."

Growers with AutoTrac-ready tractors without the GreenStar system can purchase the following components from their local John Deere dealer to pair with the mojoRTK system:

-- GS1 or GS2 screen -- SF1 activation -- Brackets & Harness (if necessary)

The move to cloud-based applications has undeniably delivered tremendous benefits. However, the associated distribution creates various challenges from the quality perspective: End-to-end tests need to pass through multiple dependent systems, which are commonly unavailable, evolving, or difficult-to-access for testing. Accessing such systems often involves transaction and bandwidth fees. Teams need to test and tune the system under test against a realistic and broad range of performance and ...

For many of the same reasons that Software-as-a-Service is catching on with enterprise buyers, delivering web services on top of Infrastructure-as-a-Service architectures is appealing to the SaaS developers. Operational agility, lower CapEx, and a broad array of tools and services are on tap that make both public and private IaaS clouds a great platform to build on. But how do you do this securely, especially in the public cloud where you have no access to the network or hypervisor your servers ...
