Web 2.0 and Enterprise Application Expert Joins Nexaweb As CTO

Company Strengthens Executive Team with Appointment of Jeremy Chone to Chief Technology Officer

"Businesses today are looking to build on the success of their existing technology investments with a future-proof architecture that will support continued enhancements to their enterprise applications," said Jeremy Chone (pictured), newly-appointed CTO of Nexaweb. "Jeremy brings a great balance of Web 2.0 and enterprise application software management and leadership experience to our team," said Chris Heidelberger, chief executive officer, Nexaweb.

Today's announcement was made by Heidelberger who in a statement added that Chone's experience "strengthens the Nexaweb team and allows us to further help our customers bring their business applications online while providing a consistent user experience across the spectrum of end users, CIOs and developers."

Chone has more than 10 years of technical and business experience in major software companies including Netscape, Oracle and Microsoft where he has successfully aligned technology visions to achieve business goals. In addition to a combination of technical and business acumen, Jeremy also possesses an in-depth knowledge of RIA technologies as well as holding many patents in the mobile and enterprise collaboration areas.

"While the last decade in technology was focused on the web revolution, the next will focus on the convergence of web, desktop and mobile applications," said Chone. "Nexaweb addresses this growing business challenge with a standards-based architecture that brings new technologies and paradigms to the enterprise without compromising proven application practices," he added.

Nexaweb extends a company’s existing intellectual and financial investments in technology by minimizing the time and resources required to modernize applications using Web 2.0 technologies such as mashups and enterprise web applications.

In his role as CTO at Nexaweb, Chone is responsible for overseeing the company’s strategic direction for its product portfolio. As a member of the Nexaweb leadership team, he also helps drive the company’s strategic partnerships and overall business direction.

Chone joins Nexaweb most recently from Adobe Systems, Inc. where he was director of product management and strategy for the company’s Flex products. His responsibilities included creating a roadmap to help Adobe establish itself as a leading Rich Internet Application (RIA) platform provider. He was also involved in multiple AJAX communities and mostly recently represented Adobe in the OpenAJAX alliance.

He has more than 10 years of technical and business experience in major software companies including Netscape, Oracle and Microsoft where he has successfully aligned technology visions to achieve business goals. In addition to a combination of technical and business acumen, Jeremy also possesses an in-depth knowledge of RIA technologies as well as holding many patents in the mobile and enterprise collaboration areas.

Chone succeeds Coach Wei in the CTO role. Wei remains as Chairman of Nexaweb.

"Having been in the IT field for many years, I believe the cloud computing chapter in the industry is an exciting one and I am proud to be a part of it," said National Reconaissance Office (NRO) Chief Information Officer Jill T. Singer Tuesday, as it was announced that she was one of 10 winners of the 2012 CloudNOW "Top Ten Women in Cloud" Awards.
2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth. On top, cloud server templates and script automation simplified application installation for simple and pre-defined application stacks, but have not targeted more complex enterprise application environments. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, John Yung, CEO of Appcara, will discuss how 2012 will be the year for app...

Building a cloud computing environment with on-demand access to compute, network, and storage resources requires an elastic infrastructure at multiple levels. Virtualization combined with x86 servers has transformed the way we scale out compute resources. Unfortunately, legacy Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage architectures are rooted in rigid mainframe-era designs, and are fundamentally mismatched with the dynamic, shared modern data center. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, ...
