Innotas and Boomi Partner to Bring On-Demand Integration to the Project Portfolio Management Market

Boomi Provides Innotas' Customers with an Easy and Affordable Answer to SaaS Integration

Boomi has partnered with Innotas to enable Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) integration for Innotas’ on-demand project portfolio management (PPM) solutions. The Boomi On Demand offering provides Innotas’ PPM users with the ability to integrate the Innotas solution with any other SaaS or on-premise applications. Integrations are built and deployed directly from the Web without the burden of installing and maintaining software packages or hardware appliances. In addition, Innotas is using Boomi On Demand to integrate its own PPM application with salesforce.com.

Using Boomi On Demand, Innotas’ customers can harness the power of the Web to integrate the PPM solution with applications for human resources, help desk, finance, time management and customer relationship management, to name a few possible scenarios. Customers can securely build, deploy and manage integrations directly from the Web using only a browser. Integrations are built visually with familiar point-and-click, drag-and-drop ease. No coding is required, and implementations are accomplished with exceptional speed.

“One of the biggest challenges we’ve faced as a SaaS vendor is the perception that integrating a SaaS offering with other applications is complex and costly. Ironically, the companies most attracted to the benefits of the SaaS model – small and mid-size businesses –were exactly the companies most impacted by this problem,” explained Chad Haftorson, vice president of products at Innotas. “With the introduction of Boomi On Demand, things just got a whole lot easier. The combination of the Innotas Web Services API (application programming interface) and Boomi On Demand allows companies to easily integrate services and applications in a cost-effective, pay-only-for-what-you-use model. Thanks to Boomi, integration is no longer a barrier to adoption.”

By delivering integration on-demand, Boomi has redefined the economics of purchasing integration capabilities. Companies can pay by connection and not for an entire integration software suite or appliance. Companies can employ the capabilities and functionality of sophisticated enterprise integration service at a fraction of the cost of conventional integration offerings.

“For customers to truly exploit the power of the Innotas PPM solution, they need it to be integrated into their enterprise. Through the partnership announced today, this integration can be accomplished much easier and affordably than in the past,” explained Boomi CEO and president Bob Moul. “In addition, fully functioning integration processes can be deployed in days, and sometimes even hours. For example, in under a week, Boomi was able to complete the integration linking Innotas’ PPM application with salesforce.com. Innotas can now provide its customers with the ability to link applications and make sure accurate and timely information exists throughout their organization.”

"Having been in the IT field for many years, I believe the cloud computing chapter in the industry is an exciting one and I am proud to be a part of it," said National Reconaissance Office (NRO) Chief Information Officer Jill T. Singer Tuesday, as it was announced that she was one of 10 winners of the 2012 CloudNOW "Top Ten Women in Cloud" Awards.
2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth. On top, cloud server templates and script automation simplified application installation for simple and pre-defined application stacks, but have not targeted more complex enterprise application environments. As more enterprises are adopting clouds, the nature of cloud computing is changing. Previously, clouds were used to test applications or for non-mission critical applications. Today, enterprises are using clouds for cost-saving advantages and launching more mission critical applications that have defined performance needs. Building a cloud computing environment with on-demand access to compute, network, and storage resources requires an elastic infrastructure at multiple levels. Virtualization combined with x86 servers has transformed the way we scale out compute resources. Unfortunately, legacy Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage architectures are rooted in rigid mainframe-era designs, and are fundamentally mismatched with the dynamic, shared modern data center. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, ...
