Six Disciplines CEO and Wall Street Journal Best-Selling Author, Gary Harpst to Address American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) Convention

Harpst to address chamber executives about the importance of executing business strategy

FINDLAY, Ohio, July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Six Disciplines, the first complete strategy and execution program for small and midsize businesses, announced today that CEO Gary Harpst will be addressing attendees at the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) annual convention. Harpst's presentation, titled "Solving The One Chamber Problem That Makes Solving All Other Problems Easier," explores the elements of a complete strategy execution program and clarifies why such a program will become a mainstream requirement for successful businesses and chambers in the future.

The annual ACCE Convention, to be held in Pittsburgh July 30-Aug. 2, hosts more than 1,000 chamber CEOs, CFOs and management staff to keep pace with the latest issues affecting businesses and their communities.

"The ACCE and Six Disciplines share a common vision in strengthening business in America," said Gary Harpst, founder and CEO of Six Disciplines. "When faced with global competitiveness and economic uncertainty, it's vital to develop better ways of doing business, especially for small and midsize companies, which are the backbone of our economy."

The findings gathered at the conference aid chamber leaders around the country in supporting U.S. national, regional and local businesses. One tool Harpst will provide to chamber leadership is a four-quadrant matrix, titled the Execution Revolution Challenge, which enables businesses to map individual perspectives on how well they balance their ability to execute their strategies. Harpst will encourage chamber leadership to evaluate their own organization's strategy, as well.

"ACCE tries to provide the best resources possible for our leadership at the convention and year round," said Mick Fleming, ACCE president. "Six Disciplines helps to fulfill that promise and we look forward to introducing our chambers and their members to this award-winning company."

Harpst's newest book, Six Disciplines(R) Execution Revolution: Solving The One Business Problem That Makes Solving All Other Problems Easier, was recently named to both the Wall Street Journal and USA Today Best-Sellers lists, and currently ranks No. 1 on Amazon for leadership and business management books. In Six Disciplines Execution Revolution, Harpst details the elements of a complete strategy execution program, explains why it could only have happened now, and clarifies why such a program will become a mainstream requirement for successful small and midsized businesses.

The Six Disciplines program is designed to help small and midsize businesses improve their ability to balance strategy and execution and to accelerate and sustain business excellence. Rooted in research and field testing, Six Disciplines executives have a deep background as small-business owners and partners to thousands of rapidly-expanding businesses, a process that has produced a wealth of data about what keeps businesses from achieving business excellence.

2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth. Building a cloud computing environment with on-demand access to compute, network, and storage resources requires an elastic infrastructure at multiple levels. Virtualization combined with x86 servers has transformed the way we scale out compute resources. Unfortunately, legacy Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage architectures are rooted in rigid mainframe-era designs, and are fundamentally mismatched with the dynamic, shared modern data center.
