Keynote(R) Survey Reveals Web Performance is Key Concern as Cloud Computing and SaaS Adoption Rises

¶ -- AJAX World Survey Finds Increasing Adoption of SaaS and Cloud Computing ¶ -- Only Half of the Companies Have Testing and Monitoring Solution in Place to Resolve Web Performance Issues - Budget, Lack of Resources Cited

Keynote Systems (Nasdaq:KEYN), the global leader in on-demand mobile and Internet test & measurement solutions for continuously improving the online experience, today announced the results of a survey the company conducted at this weeks AJAX World Conference. Keynotes study, which polled 600 conference attendees, found that 48 percent of the respondents have already deployed, or plan to deploy applications or services via Cloud Computing or SaaS in the next six months. This finding not only reflects the heightened interest in SaaS and leveraging the Cloud Computing implementation model, but that companies are also planning to use more cost-effective application delivery models with the tight economy.

Performance ranked as a top concern for the study participants in providing a positive Web experience. Other important factors cited were fast access to content and applications, and security of applications. Only half of the survey respondents have a testing and monitoring solution in place to help ensure a positive user experience. Budget constraints and a lack of internal resources to manage a performance monitoring solution were given as reasons why companies do not have a solution in place.

The results of our AJAX World survey reflect the market need for an Internet test and measurement solution to monitor complex Web applications delivered via SaaS and on cloud platforms, said Vik Chaudhary, vice president of product management and corporate development at Keynote. Keynote with its infrastructure of more than 240 test and measurement locations worldwide is well positioned to lead this market, so companies that need to test their applications dont need to build that infrastructure themselves.

This week, Keynote announced it will open its cloud infrastructure offering any Web team concerned with their end users experience free access to KITE (Keynote Internet Testing Environment), the companys product for testing and analyzing the performance of Web applications across the Internet cloud. KITE offers both instant testing from the desktop and from a pre-selected group of geographic locations in North America, Europe and Asia. KITE enables Web Developers, Quality Assurance and Web Operations Professionals to keep up with rapid development cycles, offering real-time performance testing and analysis of complex Web 2.0 applications for immediate performance feedback.
