Norsk Launches New Bingo Concept, Powered by Parlay Software

Electronic game introduces a new dimension of bingo to land-based players

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/22/09 -- Parlay Entertainment Inc. (TSX VENTURE: PEI), the world's leading supplier of Internet and TV bingo software solutions, has teamed with Norsk Bingo AS to launch a new concept in bingo entertainment.

In the fall of 2008, Norsk deployed the first 20 of what will soon be 2,000 touch-screen tabletop kiosks in 30 bingo halls throughout Norway. This is a new and innovative way for Norwegian players to access bingo online, while still in their favourite hall. All game play and access is controlled by radio frequency cards which let players activate their accounts and manage financial transactions. Players access a kiosk by simply flashing the card in front of it. From there they can play Parlay Bingo using a touch screen.

Perry Malone, CTO and co-founder of Parlay Entertainment, said: "Parlay has always been a leader in the online bingo industry. And we're pleased to be part of this latest innovation. The collaboration between Norsk and Parlay sets a new direction for both the online and land-based bingo industries, and is further evidence of the wide-ranging convergence that is sweeping through this sector. An innovative offering like this can help reinvigorate the land-based industry, whilst at the same time bring online bingo to a wider audience."

Norsk's Lars Bakken Elvsveen agrees. "Norwegians have a great love for bingo and this gives them the opportunity to enjoy a new dimension of the game. Bringing Parlay's online bingo games to our existing bingo halls is a winning combination for all. Players have more ways to play and win and we introduce the excitement of the electronic game to our traditional land-based players."

Parlay will be exhibiting at ICEi - part of the International Gaming Expo - at London's Earls Court, January 27-29, marking the eighth consecutive year that Parlay has supported this conference. We welcome all visitors to drop by our stand #5350.

Wide and cheap availability of cloud-based media services is upon us. With the transformations these services are already bringing to the consumption of music, video and interactive media, change has likewise come to professional workflows. Cloud is a shift from the focus on underlying technology implementation to leveraging existing implementations and further building upon them. Cloud orchestration or a network of clouds is the wave of the future where these clouds can operate with elasticity, scalability, and efficiency. Effective service management is an important aspect of managing such networks. The transition to the cloud will enable the further aggregation of composite web services and enhanced business-to-business capabili...

"Having been in the IT field for many years, I believe the cloud computing chapter in the industry is an exciting one and I am proud to be a part of it," said National Reconaissance Office (NRO) Chief Information Officer Jill T. Singer Tuesday, as it was announced that she was one of 10 winners of the 2012 CloudNOW "Top Ten Women in Cloud" Awards.
2011 was a year of rapid adoption for public and private cloud services. Instant and on-demand server provisioning was the driving force behind the massive growth. On top, cloud server templates and script automation simplified application installation for simple and pre-defined application stacks, but have not targeted more complex enterprise application environments. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, John Yung, CEO of Appcara, will discuss how 2012 will be the year for app...
As more enterprises are adopting clouds, the nature of cloud computing is changing. Previously, clouds were used to test applications or for non-mission critical applications. Today, enterprises are using clouds for cost-saving advantages and launching more mission critical applications that have defined performance needs. Building a cloud computing environment with on-demand access to compute, network, and storage resources requires an elastic infrastructure at multiple levels. Virtualization combined with x86 servers has transformed the way we scale out compute resources. Unfortunately, legacy Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage architectures are rooted in rigid mainframe-era designs, and are fundamentally mismatched with the dynamic, shared modern data center. In his session at the 10th International Cloud Expo, ...
